Education
Mohamcd Meziane holds a degree of Chemical Engineer from Polytechnic School of Algiers and a degree of Engineer in Refining and Petrochemical from lAP (the Algerian Insrirute of Oil).

Professional Experience
He entered Sonatrach in 1967 with many technical and managerial rcsponsibilities before joining in 1984 the finistry for Energy and Mines:
He began his professional career in the project team of the Arzew ammonia complex then in the construction of the Arzew refinery.
In 1973, he was the manager of the Algiers refinery and, in 1978, manager of the entire Refining Sector.
In 1980, he is named Vice‐President of Sonatrach in charge of Petrochemical, LNG and Refining.
In 1984, He entered the Cabinet of the Minisrer for Energy.
In 1986, he was Manager of Industrial Safety at the Ministry for Energy then Manager of International Exchanges in 1988.
From 1991 to 1996, he was head of Cabiner then General Manager of Hydrocarbons until 2003.
In September 2003, Mr Meziane came back to Sonatrach as Chainnan and Chief Executive Officer.
